"I'm a Hoarder," Richards Admits With a Laugh

Park City, UT - Denim Richards, known for his role as Colby Mayfield on the hit Paramount Network series "Yellowstone," recently revealed that he took nearly everything but his horse from the show's set when it wrapped.

Speaking to reporters at the Sundance Film Festival, Richards chuckled, "I'm a hoarder. I couldn't help myself." He explained that he had been given permission to take some items home as a memento of his time on the show, but he ended up taking much more than he was supposed to.

A Treasure Trove of Props and Costumes

Richards shared that he took various props from the set, including an old lighter, a hat, and the iconic Dutton family branding iron. "I wanted to have something tangible to remember that experience by," he said.

He also took home several costumes he had worn as Colby, including his cowboy hat, chaps, and vests. "I love those costumes," Richards said. "They were so well-made and they really helped me get into character."

A Special Connection to the Set

Richards explained that taking items from the set was not just about acquiring souvenirs but also about preserving a part of his "Yellowstone" experience. "The set was like a second home to me for five years," he said.

"I wanted to have things that would remind me of the people I worked with, the stories we told, and the memories we made."

Permission or Not, He's Taking It All

Richards admitted that he wasn't sure if he had permission to take all of the items he did. "I didn't steal anything," he said with a grin.

"But if I saw something I wanted, I figured it was mine."

A Reminder of a Journey

Richards said that the items he took from the "Yellowstone" set will be cherished reminders of his time on the show. He plans to display them in his home and share stories about them with his family and friends.

"These items are more than just props and costumes," Richards said. "They represent a chapter in my life that I'll never forget."

A Final Memento

When asked if he regretted not taking his horse, Whiskey, from the set, Richards laughed. "I love Whiskey, but he's a big boy. I couldn't very well take him home with me."

"Besides, I think he'd be happier running free on the Dutton ranch than in my backyard."

Denim Richards's "Yellowstone" hoarding spree may not have been authorized, but it has resulted in a treasure trove of memories that he will cherish for the rest of his life.
