Musselman, 59, comes to USC after a successful six-year tenure at the University of Arkansas. He led the Razorbacks to the NCAA Tournament in five of his six seasons, including an Elite Eight appearance in 2021. Musselman has a career coaching record of 313-178 (.637), including three conference championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Bohn cited Musselman's proven success as a coach and his ability to connect with players as reasons for the hire. "Eric has a track record of winning and developing players," Bohn said. "He is a proven recruiter and has a passion for the game."

Musselman inherits a USC program that has struggled in recent years. The Trojans have not reached the NCAA Tournament since 2017 and finished 14-18 (6-14 Pac-12) in 2022-23. Musselman is expected to elevate the program's competitiveness and return it to national prominence.

"I am thrilled to join the USC family and lead the men's basketball program," Musselman said. "USC has a storied tradition in basketball, and I am committed to building on that legacy."

Musselman's hiring could have a significant impact on USC basketball. His proven ability to win and recruit could help the Trojans compete for Pac-12 championships and make deep runs in the NCAA Tournament. His presence could also boost fan interest and attendance at Galen Center.

Under Musselman's leadership, USC basketball is poised for a resurgence. With his experience, connections, and commitment to winning, the Trojans could quickly become a force to be reckoned with in college basketball.
