Brittany Williams, the former girlfriend of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, has claimed her social media account was hacked after a series of derogatory posts directed at Allen following his proposal to actress Hailee Steinfeld.
On Monday, Williams' Twitter and Instagram accounts reportedly posted a series of tweets and stories calling Allen a "brain dead CTE athlete" and accusing him of assaulting her during their relationship. The posts were quickly deleted, but screenshots of them spread widely on social media.
In a statement released to TMZ, Williams denied responsibility for the posts, claiming that her accounts were "hacked and compromised" by an unknown person. She stated that she "never authorized" the posts and that the allegations against Allen were "completely false."
Neither Allen nor Steinfeld has publicly commented on the alleged hacking or the accusations against Allen. However, a source close to the couple told TMZ that they are "aware of the situation" and that Allen is "taking the allegations very seriously."
The Buffalo Police Department has launched an investigation into the alleged hacking. Police spokesperson Michael DeGeorge said that the department is working with Twitter and Instagram to gather evidence and identify the person responsible.
Williams and Allen dated for several years before breaking up in December 2022. They have both moved on to new relationships, with Allen engaged to Steinfeld and Williams reportedly dating model Joe Mazzulla.
If investigators confirm that Williams' accounts were hacked, she could face charges related to false reporting. Additionally, the allegations against Allen could damage his reputation and professional career. The outcome of the investigation remains unknown at this time.
