Last year, the Yellow Jackets traveled to Chapel Hill as a heavy underdog but gave UNC a run for their money. GT held a 21-17 lead entering the fourth quarter before the Tar Heels rallied for a 38-21 victory. The game was a breakout performance for UNC quarterback Drake Maye, who passed for 364 yards and three touchdowns.
This year's matchup features some intriguing matchups to watch.
The Yellow Jackets are eager to avenge last season's defeat.
"We remember what happened last year," said junior linebacker Charlie Thomas. "We're going to go into that game with a chip on our shoulders and prove that we can beat them."
The game is expected to be a close one. UNC is the slight favorite, but GT is a dangerous underdog. If the Yellow Jackets can play mistake-free football and get a big game from King, they have a chance to pull off the upset.
"We're confident in our team and our game plan," said head coach Brent Key. "If we execute, we can beat anyone."
